According to a recent report from The Sun, Juventus would be willing to splash the cash in order to land a stunning deal to bring Virgil van Dijk to Turin in the summer.

What's the word, then?

The same outlet states that the Italian giants want to make the Liverpool star the world’s most expensive defender for the second time in his career by offering the Reds a gigantic offer.

If The Sun's report is to be believed, the Bianconeri would table a monstrous £150m to land van Dijk's signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

And not only that, but they also claim the player himself would actually be open to a move if Liverpool win the Premier League this season - which, at this point, with them 22 points clear at the top, is a given.

Needless to say, scooping him up would be a major deal for Maurizio Sarri.

Verdict

Since we are talking about a player who has largely been the crown jewel in Liverpool’s defence since his arrival, helping them clinch the Champions League and ending up as Ballon d’Or runner-up to Lionel Messi, there is no doubt this would be a gargantuan deal for the Old Lady.

Van Dijk was in simply imperious form last season and now he's on the brink of adding another trophy to his cabinet in the form of the Premier League.

With Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini slowly but surely fading away, the Dutch skipper might just be the perfect partner for Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt in the defensive line for years to come.

Let's see if they can truly scoop him up.
