According to a report from Calciomercato, Juventus and Manchester City have both set their sights on RB Salzburg's Luka Reischl and could go toe to toe for his signature.

What's the word, then?

Juventus are always on a hunt for young talents from around Europe and RB Salzburg's 16-year-old star in making is definitely someone who is yet to fully emerge from his cocoon.

But the Bianconeri are not alone in this chase as Pep Guardiola is seemingly also interested in Reischl.

Who the heck is that?! Can you name all 25 of these obscure Man City signings...

And just by looking at his numbers, it really doesn't come as a surprise at all - the 16-year-old goal-machine has already scored 15 in ten games for Salzburg's young squad and has also netted 63 times in just 41 academy appearances as a whole.

By all means, he looks like a huge prospect and since he is only 16 and yet to pen a professional contract, he could be available on the cheap.

Verdict

Needless to say, getting ahead of the curve and scooping up talents before they get discovered by the rest of the footballing world is definitely a great idea by the two giants.

With his abilities already on full display despite being so young, Reischl could very well go on to become a star for the future.

But while it's easy to get carried away when kids blossom so quickly, the Bianconeri should be patient and see where his talents end up leading him.

He is still far too young for any concrete conclusion to be drawn but that still doesn't mean they shouldn't go for him if they have the chance to do so.

The first step, however, might be beating Guardiola to the punch.
