According to a new report from Tuttosport, Juventus now have an open road to land Paul Pogba's signature in the near future.

What's the word, then?

The Bianconeri's desire to bring the Manchester United star back to Turin is no secret whatsoever.

Pogba departed Juventus in 2016 and it seems that now he could be on his way back, or at least that's what Tuttosport feel could happen with Real Madrid set to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax instead.

The big fat United quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Man Utd?

Van de Beek's move was mooted in the Netherlands from De Telegraaf (via Marca) just recently, and the Italian outlet believes that could be the tipping point in Maurizio Sarri's chase of the coveted midfielder.

The same source mentions Pogba's bad relationship with the Red Devils as something that could also help the Bianconeri see this deal through and finally bring the Frenchman back to Italy.

Verdict

This is definitely not the first nor will it be the last time we hear about Pogba and his possible departure from Man United.

The midfielder has previously been tipped to exit the club and Los Blancos have always been seen as the club that's heavily interested in taking him away from the Premier League when the time comes, even during the summer.

But it could be possible that the potential arrival of van de Beek and the recent rise of Federico Valverde could actually cool Zinedine Zidane's obsession with his compatriot, thus leaving the door open for Juventus to swoop in and land his signature.

Pogba has only mustered 610 minutes across eight games played in the current campaign, and while a lot of that is certainly due to his injuries, it could also be quite a telling sign of where his priorities lie.

As things currently stand, Juventus might actually get their man this time around.
