On Sunday the chasing pack will be hoping to pick up vital points in the Serie A, with Roma and Juventus both in action, who will be looking to pick up maximum points against the bottom two in Serie A, playing Livorno and Siena respectively. Claudio Ranieri’s Roma are languishing down in mid table and captain Francesco Totti will be aiming to help his side to a much needed victory at the Stadio Olimpico. Ciro Ferrara’s currently sit in third place in the table and travel to face Siena where they will be confident of victory.
Ranieri’s Roma travelled to Fulham on Thursday and secured a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in the Europa League. They will be boosted by their late equaliser in that match but the trip may also have taken a lot out of them. Roma continue to heavily rely on the talents on Totti, who has netted six times already in the league this season, and his trickery complements the attributes of Daniele De Rossi who provides some much needed endeavour in the middle of the park. Livorno are yet to win in Serie A this season and the team who were promoted from Serie B already look like candidates to go back down straight away.
Juventus who are managed by legendary player Ciro Ferrara have made a good start to the season and are a team full of stars. From goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, to defender Fabio Cannavaro and captain Alessandro Del Piero, Juventus have plenty of experienced Italian internationals in their side. A midweek Champions League against Maccabi Haifa, their first this season, will have raised their confidence and they will be hoping that Vincenzo Iaquinta and David Trezeguet will be able to add to the six league goals between them. Siena haven’t won since August and will struggle to end a winning less six game run against a confident Juventus side at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
