Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Brian Deane has questioned if Sheffield United is the right club for Rhian Brewster, suggesting a transfer to Bramall Lane was perhaps not the best move for his development.

The 21-year-old has really struggled since joining from Liverpool last October, failing to score a single goal for his new side this season.

Scoring goals has been a team problem for Sheffield United in the Premier League, however, with the Blades bottom of the table for goals scored.

Focusing on Brewster specifically, though, when asked by FFC whether the young English striker may have regrets about joining the club, Deane said:

"Of course. He's not played [or started regularly]. Perhaps it wasn't the right club for his development. But, I mean, that's up to him and his advisors.

"I think you need people around you who are going to say, 'Okay, so who am I going to learn from? What's the plan? How would I fit into this team?' Unfortunately, it's not worked out. He's a very talented player, but I think you have to do a little bit more in the way of planning."

Indeed, Brewster certainly is a very talented player, as he showed during a loan spell with Swansea City last year, where he was able to score 11 goals in 22 Championship appearances.

Ultimately, the former Liverpool man should not be written off, with United perhaps not being a good fit for him. Or, alternatively, he may just need a bit more time at Bramall Lane.
