Sheffield United have been dealt a boost regarding the fitness of Ben Osborn ahead of their upcoming Championship clash.
According to The Athletic journalist Richard Sutcliffe, the 27-year-old has recovered from a bug that saw the midfielder miss the Blades’ 2-2 draw with Preston North End on Tuesday, and will be available for the trip to Hull City on Saturday.
However, Sutcliffe also went on to reveal that Ben Davies has not recovered from his calf injury, while Enda Stevens and Jayden Bogle will be unavailable for the fixture.
In his tweet, the journalist said: “Ben Osborn available after missing PNE draw with illness. Ben Davies back “soon” from calf injury, though doesn’t sound like this weekend. Enda Stevens had 1st training session today after summer hernia op. Jayden Bogle ill.”
While the continued absence of Davies will undoubtedly come as a blow to Slavisa Jokanovic, considering how impressive Osborn has been for the Blades so far this season, the return of the 27-year-old will certainly limit the Serbian’s disappointment regarding his stricken centre-back.
Furthermore, with Osborn being the only natural wide attacking option Jokanovic has in his first-team squad, the former England U20 international is somewhat irreplaceable for the 53-year-old manager, giving even more reason as to why his return to fitness is sure to have left the Blades boss buzzing, as well as why his involvement is a major boost to his side’s chances of picking up a result against the Tigers.
