Sheffield United are yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season, so they ought to make one man their priority at all costs...

What's the word?

According to The Sun's Alan Nixon, the Blades have tabled a £23m bid for Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster in a desperate attempt to resolve their goalscoring problems.

It's claimed that the Reds would be guaranteed £18m from the deal with the remainder to follow in add-ons. Chris Wilder has been chasing the 20-year-old for two months and is now set to open talks over a potential move.

There is also a suggestion that it should be accepted by the Premier League champions despite interest from Crystal Palace.

Must be the priority

It's now on CEO Stephen Bettis to get this deal over the line as Brewster could be the answer to Wilder's woes.

Last season's phenomenal ninth-place finish seems like a far cry from what we've witnessed at Bramall Lane since the restart. The Blades find themselves rock bottom of the Premier League.

Winless from three and goalless in three. Wilder and his side need a boost and the club ought to look no further than the exciting Anfield prodigy.

Brewster took his first spell away from the Reds like a duck to water. He bagged 11 goals in just 22 starts for Championship outfit Swansea City, also averaging 2.5 shots, 0.7 dribbles and 1.9 aerials won per game, via WhoScored.

Speaking to BBC back in 2017, the scout which unearthed the England U17 World Cup winner praised him highly, he said: "He has natural flair and is very talented in many, many ways. He looked like a footballer at seven - the way he stood and moved. He was fearless and was delighted to take players on."

Whilst former Three Lions teammate and now superstar at Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho, claims Brewster "causes defenders nightmares" - that is something the Blades lack immensely.

Billy Sharp? David McGoldrick? Neither strike fear into you.

For an initial £18m, this would be the best move Bettis can make to give United life this season. Get it done at all costs.
