Former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Mark Crossley believes that Lee Gregory is an excellent signing for the Owls.
Gregory joined Sheffield Wednesday from Stoke City and brings with him a brilliant goalscoring record, now on 119 goals. Gregory marked his full debut in style as he got the only goal of the game in the Owls’ recent 1-0 victory over Fleetwood Town.
Gregory has had success in League One previously, as he helped Millwall to promotion via the play-offs in the 2016/2017 season, scoring 18 goals in the process.
Mark Crossley believes Gregory is a proven striker and an excellent signing for Sheffield Wednesday, telling Football FanCast after the Owls’ League One fixture with Doncaster Rovers earlier this month: “Gregory came on, again he is a proven striker and I think he is an excellent signing and he looked fit and he looked strong when he came on.
“So, you’ve got Kamberi, you’ve got Windass, you’ve got Gregory. For League One you would expect that three to get goals.”
The Owls have made an unbeaten start to the League One campaign, drawing their opening game against Charlton Athletic before wins against Doncaster Rovers, Fleetwood Town and Rotherham United to take them top of the league table.
