Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Carlton Palmer has told Football FanCast in an exclusive interview that he expects Dejphon Chansiri to remain at Hillsborough even if the Owls get relegated at the end of the season.

Dropping down to League One is starting to look like a real possibility for Wednesday if it had not already.

Darren Moore's side are currently 23rd in the Championship, sitting on just 32 points. They remain six-points adrift of safety, although they do have a game in hand over Birmingham City, who sit just outside of the relegation zone, giving them some hope.

Discussing the possibility of owner Chansiri selling the club if Wednesday do find themselves playing in League One next season, Palmer told FFC:

"It's not going to be as easy as that right now. You've got to remember, it's Covid, this, that, the other.

"It's not going to be as easy as that to sell the football club and the chairman, the one thing that nobody can argue about, they can argue about his running of the football club, but they can't argue about the money that he's put into the football club. It's just been misguided in my opinion."

Wednesday will be looking to increase their chances of Championship survival by trying to take all three points when they travel to Vicarage Road on Friday to face Watford. And then after that, the Owls play another strong side in Cardiff City, who are looking to enter the play-off spots.
