After picking up a point in their previous League One clash in their 1-1 draw against Cambridge United in midweek, Sheffield Wednesday have another match coming up at the weekend with a home clash against Lincoln City who are currently in 15th place in the league table with 15 points on the board so far.

On the chalkboard

One player that featured in the game against Cambridge that we feel should be in the starting XI again to face Lincoln is Oluwafisayo Dele-Bashiri.

He managed to score Wednesday's equaliser in midweek to save a point for the Owls after conceding in the first half.

In addition to scoring for Darren Moore's side, Dele-Bashiri managed to hit the woodwork and have two shots blocked in a dominant attacking display.

Furthermore, he completed three out of the six crosses and long balls he attempted, produced one key pass and racked up an average passing accuracy percentage of 90% as he demonstrated his class in offensive situations. That ultimately earned him an impressive overall match rating of 7.7/10, making him the second-highest-rated Wednesday player on the day according to SofaScore.

Wednesday signed Dele-Bashiri back in the 2020 summer transfer window from Manchester City's youth team for an undisclosed fee after being described as a "dynamic" player by City youth coach Ben Wilkinson.

Since then, the 20-year-old, who is currently valued at £270k according to Transfermarkt, has made 19 appearances for the Owls across all competitions.

So far this season, Dele-Bashiri has been mightily impressive, racking up on average of 1.5 shots per game in League One and a passing accuracy percentage of 88%, proving himself to be a useful figure for the Owls. Those aforementioned statistics also show why he could be a massive problem for Lincoln at the weekend and possibly even terrify their defence.

Taking all of this into account, we feel that Dele-Bashiri should definitely keep his place in Wednesday's starting XI to face Lincoln to see if he can get his name on the scoresheet again and help his side get all three points this time around.

Whether Moore decides to keep Dele-Bashiri in the starting XI or not against the Imps, we feel that given how the Yorkshire side have now drawn their two previous league games, they need to get a win under their belts this weekend to keep them in the race for a promotion spot back to the Championship by the end of the season.
