Sheffield Wednesday’s first-team aren’t doing too well at the moment, but there are certainly a few players to look out for within their U23 setup.

On Wednesday we saw Alex Hunt impress in the FA Cup against Manchester City - producing two tackles and keeping the likes of David Silva quiet in his 27 minutes on the pitch. Meanwhile, Osaze Urhoghide also made the bench.

One man who was touted with a spot in the squad prior to the match was Preslav Borukov, but it wasn’t to be this week.

However, the Bulgarian still looks like he will have a bright future at Hillsborough, and we caught up with him to get a gauge on what he’s like as a player.

Speaking exclusively to FootballFanCast, the striker spoke about his style of play.

“I am a strong and physical player, I can hold the ball, run in behind and win balls in the air. I have good movement without the ball.

“My best attributes are that I am strong and fast, I am good at heading. I am right-footed but I am very good with my left as well.”

The 19-year-old looked up to a number of top players as a youngster stating that although he didn’t have a favourite player he was an admirer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo and fellow countryman Dimitar Berbatov.

If he can come anywhere close to matching the feats of the aforementioned trio he will be a tremendous player, but the Wednesday prospect believes the star he's most similar to is Romelu Lukaku.

We asked the 6 foot 2 striker if there is any player he would compare himself to, and he quite defiantly stated that he wants to have his own style, before adding that he’s similar in stature to the Inter frontman.

“I want to have my own style and way of play, but I look quite like Lukaku,” the teenager said.

If Wednesday have their own young Lukaku on their hands that’s certainly something to be excited about.

The 19-year-old hasn’t played a senior minute for the Owls yet, but a strong powerful striker who is confident using either foot could be exactly what Wednesday need in the coming years, especially with top scorer Steven Fletcher turning 33 later this month.

In other news, Wednesday fans have been discussing Jacob Murphy after his award win.
