Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been a player high on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur during the summer window and has been labelled as "one to watch" by Sky Sports editor Lyall Thomas.

What's the word?

There has been some speculation surrounding the Englishman over recent months with suggestions that Newcastle United were a club that had shown some interest in prising him away from Elland Road. However, they were seemingly put off by the winger's £35m price tag.

It was reported at the time that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was a big admirer of the 26-year-old and was keen to add a player with his work rate to his side at St. James' Park.

Although a move for Harrison did not develop, Thomas has been speaking about the English winger as a potential name to keep an eye on at Spurs following their previous interest in the player:

"Jack Harrison was the other one that Spurs were very interested in in the summer. Jack Harrison from Leeds," Thomas said.

"Another one to keep an eye on I think generally in those positions because he was definitely high on the list last summer, Jack Harrison was."

Time to move on?

Harrison played a huge role in Leeds' previous two Premier League campaigns which saw the winger provide a return of eight goals in both seasons (via Transfermarkt).

However, the 26-year-old now has just over one year remaining on his deal with the Whites which is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

But, there were reports that talks had opened between Victor Orta and the player, but things have gone quiet.

And to add to his dwindling contract, the winger has not been able to hit the high standards set over previous campaigns for Leeds with a return of just one goal in the Premier League so far to his name.

With this in mind, you do have to question whether Antonio Conte would be able to develop Harrison back to his best form when he is struggling to get the best out of players like Son Heung-min at the moment.

Although this could be a factor in Harrison's thinking about his future, the lure of a club currently playing in the Champions League would likely be an obvious attraction for a player who is currently battling at the bottom end of the table.

Leeds added the promising youngster Brenden Aaronson over the summer and the American has been able to provide a similar return to Harrison thus far in the English top flight with just one assist fewer than the 26-year-old.

And given his struggles, it does also beg the question of whether a potential move from one of the league's bigger clubs in the coming months would provide Leeds to part with a player whose contract is running down and is struggling to find his best form.
