Leeds United’s links to Noa Lang remain, despite growing Premier League interest…

What’s the latest?

That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who claims that the Dutchman could well end up at Everton, much to Victor Orta’s frustration.

With Fabrizio Romano issuing a positive verdict on a potential deal for the Whites, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think it’d be a big blow for Leeds to lose out on another potential signing to a club that they would consider to be of a similar level. So, I don’t think they could really allow that to happen.”

Having already failed in their pursuit to sign Matheus Cunha to Wolverhampton Wanderers, they will not want a repeat here with this exciting wide man.

Forget Cunha

Although it might have seemed a big blow, should they sign Lang it will have fans quickly forgetting the Brazilian forward.

When comparing their recent goal tallies anyway, it is clear to see who the more prolific option would be.

With both players enduring comparatively poor seasons, the Club Brugge finisher still boasts eight goal contributions. Meanwhile, the former Atletico Madrid man has just two assists.

Even when placing their outstanding campaigns side by side, it marks little comparison.

Last season saw Lang score nine and assist 15, backing up his tally of 17 goals and 11 assists from the term prior to that.

Seven goals and seven assists for Cunha in 2021/22 was an admirable tally, but given his record across multiple campaigns, he has never achieved anything similar to Leeds’ top target.

There is a reason why football analyst Filip Joos labelled him “the best player in the league”.

Boasting 68 career goals at just 23 years old, he truly is the “phenomenon” that journalist Peter Vandenbempt claimed he was.

Having seemingly transcended Belgian football, his next logical step will be to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Orta will want to avoid a Cunha repeat with the Toffees lurking, however, will be quietly happy to have missed out on their initial target should they still land Lang.
