Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Glasgow Rangers return to Champions League action for the final time this season as they host Ajax at Ibrox tonight.

The Light Blues head into the match without any chance of being able to progress through to the knockout stages of the competition after losing all five of their previous games in the group.

They are 12 points behind Liverpool in second place and three points behind Ajax in third. A win against the Dutch side at Ibrox would put them level on points for third place but their current goal difference of minus 18 in comparison to the Eredivisie giants' minus seven means that it would take a gigantic win to salvage their European hopes.

Van Bronckhorst's side come into the game off the back of a 4-1 victory over Aberdeen in the Premiership but suspension and injury issues mean that he will be forced into changes from that match.

Just how many alterations will he make to the side, though? Here is our predicted XI for the meeting with Ajax...

We are predicting that the Dutch head coach will make four changes, with Borna Barisic, Rabbi Matondo, Steven Davis, and Charlie McCann coming in.

Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz have both been ruled out through injury and this means that Barisic is the only senior left-back available for selection. Therefore, the Croatia international should slot back in after coming off the bench against Aberdeen, whilst James Sands can move from midfield to centre-back to cover for Davies.

In midfield, John Lundstram is suspended and Sands' position has been freed up by the issues at the back. This means that two midfielders need to come into the side and we are predicting that Steven Davis and Charlie McCann will start.

Davis, at the age of 37, can provide experience in the middle of the park and McCann could be unleashed for his Champions League debut, after making his full Premiership bow earlier this season, with Ryan Jack currently out injured.

Glen Kamara has only just come back from an injury and Scott Arfield could be saved to come on in the attacking areas off the bench, which is why this could be the perfect opportunity to throw the youngster in at the deep end to see if he sinks or swims.

Finally, we are tipping van Bronckhorst to ditch Ryan Kent from the starting XI after zero goals and one assist in his last seven appearances in all competitions.

Matondo, who former Wales boss Ryan Giggs once described as "electrifying", has played once - off the bench - in the last three games and he could be given an opportunity to show that he can be more productive than the former Liverpool man.
