Celtic have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season in the Premiership with Ange Postecoglou's Hoops winning 11 of their opening 12 matches. They now have three games left before the break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The competition will give the Bhoys the chance to regroup and rest before attacking the second half of the season, as only a handful of players will be heading over there with their respective countries.

Whilst the tournament gives the Hoops a break on the pitch it also gives them a chance to take a look at potential transfer targets in action over in Qatar, with the January transfer window on the horizon.

One Celtic target who is set to play later this month is Ferencvaros centre-forward Ryan Mmaee, as he is on course to feature for Morocco.

The player recently hinted at a potential move away from the club in January, saying: "There was serious interest from other clubs (in the summer), but I was just recovering from an injury at the time, so it wasn't the ideal time to leave. The World Cup is my main goal at the moment and I also play in a very good team here in Hungary. But it is also clear that I am not going to stay here for ever so we will see what happens."

Postecoglou must now look to agree a deal in principle to sign the forward ahead of the World Cup as he has the potential to be a surprise package on the biggest of stages.

By attempting to sign him now, it would avoid other clubs becoming interested in his services if he catches fire at the tournament and starts a bidding war for his signature.

Morocco are in a group with Belgium, Croatia and Canada and the 24-year-old striker could make a name for himself on the world stage if he can find his best form. The gem has shown plenty of promise at international level already, as he has scored four goals in 11 caps for his country at senior level, after representing Belgium across various age groups.

Mmaee, who was once described as "prolific" by journalist Maher Mezahi, has also showcased his goalscoring ability for Ferencvaros since the start of last season. The forward has plundered 24 goals and 14 assists in 55 appearances for the club, after managing 25 strikes and seven assists in 59 outings for AEL Limassol.

These statistics show that he has been a regular goalscorer at all levels over the last few years, which is why he could be a surprise package - for people who are not familiar with Morocco or the Hungarian top flight - at the World Cup.

Therefore, Celtic must attempt to sign the marksman, with 56 club career goals, before the tournament; it might just save them plenty of hassle in January.
