Aston Villa played their final match before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last weekend as they beat Brighton 2-1 away from home in the Premier League.

Unai Emery has won his first two games in charge of the Villans, after beating Manchester United 3-1 in his first outing in the dugout, and will now have to wait until after Christmas to continue his 100% record in the top-flight.

The World Cup officially kicks off in Qatar today as the hosts take on Ecuador in the opening game of the tournament, whilst England play their first match against Iran on Monday.
