Steven Gerrard and John Terry were enemies on the pitch whenever Liverpool and Chelsea went head to head, but off it they seem rather close.

The ex-Reds captain is no longer a professional footballer after retiring from playing in December.

The 36-year-old is now focused on a potential career in management after taking up a role as an academy coach at his former club.

Terry is yet to hang up his boots, but he is arguably reaching the end of his career after barely featuring in Antonio Conte's side this season.

The defender has been plagued by injuries, and has seemingly dropped down the pecking order, with Conte preferring Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta as a back three.

In fact, Terry has not featured in the Premier League since the end of November and he last started a top-flight game in September.

He doesn't look too stressed out about it judging from the grin on his face in a picture where he is stood side by side with Gerrard.

Clearly the two players have put their rivalries aside for what appears to be a segment for BT Sport ahead of Tuesday night's showdown between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield.
