On Sunday, Gabriel Jesus showed why Man City brought him to the Premier League by scoring an incredible brace that won all three points at home to Swansea.
Taking just 11 minutes to score on his first start at the Etihad, he then rescued the three points for City right at the death. Gylfi Sigurdsson has threatened to ruin Pep Guardiola’s stay with a late equaliser but it was Jesus who stole the headlines with his injury time goal.
It was a vital goal for City after Arsenal and Liverpool both lost on Saturday. The Citizens have now moved into third position behind Chelsea and Spurs.
Jesus was superb throughout, providing a cutting edge in the final third for City that they lacked elsewhere. It wasn’t a one-off either.
As this stat from Squawka shows, his start in English football has been quite remarkable.

Directly contributing to five goals in his first three starts is exceptional, especially when you consider he’s going through a massive culture shock and is still just 19 years old.
If this is the future at Manchester City then club legend Sergio Aguero will be spending a lot more time on the bench in the weeks to come…
