Sanchez rubbing shoulders with giants at Arsenal

Arsenal are still in the hunt for a top four finish in the English Premier League after travelling to Stoke City on Saturday evening and destroying them 4-1.

Arsene Wenger’s side looked relaxed and motivated on their travels as they put themselves to within just one point of fourth-placed Liverpool with the victory.

A Mesut Ozil goal, a Olivier Giroud double and an Alexis Sanchez effort gave the Gunners a victory that gives fans hope that their season isn’t quite over yet.

Sanchez has of course been a shining light for Wenger’s team all season and his goal was his 50th in the English Premier League, putting him into some esteemed company at the club, as this stat from Squawka shows.

Not only that, but his contribution this season has been his greatest yet in an Arsenal shirt. In the two seasons prior he had scored 13 and 16 goals respectively. As this stat from Squawka shows, he’s gone well beyond that with two games still remaining.

With his contract situation at the Emirates still not resolved, Arsenal fans must be hoping that of all the business they do this summer, Sanchez is at the front of decision makers’ minds.
