Silva & Mata dominate impressive Premier League numbers

Spanish football has certainly been the cream of the crop for the past decade, with Los Rojas’ national side winning three consecutive international tournaments between 2008 and 2012, whilst their domestic sides have dominated Europe’s elite competitions.

Whilst Spain has declined on the international front, their club sides are still amongst the best in the world, shown by the fact they’ve won all six of the last available European honours, and their players are shining across the continent.

In the Premier League, we’re blessed with a number of talented Spaniard’s and the figures suggest the very best of the lot both ply their trade in Manchester- albeit on opposite sides of the blue and red divide.

Since the 2011/12 season, David Silva and Juan Mata both boast 87 goals and assists in the Premier League- more than any other midfielder during the same period of time.

Silva’s numbers have all come during his time with the Citizens, whilst Mata’s efforts are split between Chelsea and Manchester United- but it’s clear he’s found his feet at the latter.
