Most footballers that have stayed loyal to one club are revered by the supporters, but Gabriel Agbonlahor has not received that treatment from the entire fanbase.

The forward came through the Villans' academy and aside from loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, he has not left the Midlands outfit.

At the age of 31, Agbonlahor has drifted down the pecking order, largely due to injury problems.

This season, the Englishman has played in just four of the club's 13 Championship matches and in only two of them was he named in the first XI.

In those outings, Agbonlahor scored one goal and created one assist, but manager Steve Bruce is unlikely to call upon the forward this weekend when the team face arch rivals Birmingham City at St Andrew's.

It seems, though, that he will not be missed...

Villa are in positive form heading into the crucial clash on Sunday as they have suffered defeat just once in their last 10 league games.

As it stands, the Midlands outfit sit fifth in the Championship table.
