According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are ready to step up their efforts to sign Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with his future with the Gunners in doubt.

The 23-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract and despite previous comments from Arsene Wenger that suggested he would be staying, Sky Sports say that the England international has told manager Arsene Wenger this week that he has no intention of extending his deal.

That news will have alerted Blues boss Antonio Conte, who is looking to provide competition for Victor Moses in the right wing-back spot – a position that Oxlade-Chamberlain impressed in towards the end of last season.

Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.

While some believe he is “not good enough” and would be willing to let him go, others want him to stay.
