According to reports in The Mirror, Arsenal would accept a bid of £80m for Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez this summer.
The 28-year-old has just one year remaining on his Gunners contract and The Mirror report that he has told the club that he wants to leave, and that Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is lining up a £50m move for the Chile international, who he also managed during his time at the helm of Barcelona.
However, the north London outfit won’t accept anything less than £80m according to The Mirror, and they would rather keep him for another season and risk losing him for nothing next year.
Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and they were divided with their opinions.
While some believe £80m would be a fair price for Sanchez, who scored 30 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions last term, others feel that he is worth a lot more because of the influence he has had during his time at the Emirates.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
It'd be insane to reject £80m for Sanchez with just 1 year left on his deal. Forget 'principles', we should be sensible.

If Lukaku went for 100 million. City should pay 175 million

If he doesn't want to be here i''ld let him go for £80 million. But only if he really wanted to go.

he's the best player in PL, if not one of the top 5. Even with a year left on his contract, I won't sell for cheap; aleast 80-100m

Possibly £100 million if we are to sell. Too good to lose.

I'd sell him for 80m. Fair price. Get lemar and mahrez and we're good.

Hope the Sanchez saga ends soon. If he's that desperate to leave, just take the money. No point letting him leave for free next season. #AFC
