Arsenal fans not convinced by rumours of £87m bid for Mbappe

Arsenal fans are not getting too excited about the rumours surrounding their reported interest in Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

French publication L’Equipe has claimed that the North London outfit, who failed to quality for next season’s Champions League, have tabled a staggering €100m (£87m) for the teenage attacker.

The 18-year-old Frenchman is believed to have attracted the attention of numerous big-name clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Mbappe scored 26 goals in all competitions this season, including six in the Champions League as he helped the team reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

There is expected to be a scramble for his signature, and L’Equipe claims that Arsenal have made the first move with a bid close to the world-record figure of £89m that Manchester United paid to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer.

The French newspaper adds that Mbappe is not Arsenal’s only attacking target, with Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette once again on Arsene Wenger’s radar.

Supporters have been giving their thoughts on the Mbappe speculation on Twitter, with many not hopeful that the club will get a deal done.
