Today, Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp celebrates his 47th birthday.
The Dutchman hung up his boots eleven years ago but certainly hasn’t been forgotten by the Gunners faithful as one of the most successful and popular players in the club’s history.
Indeed, Bergkamp won three Premier League titles with the north Londoners, was part of their famous Invincibles squad and lifted four FA Cups, whilst becoming iconic for his subdued yet skillful and uniquely inventive style of play.
Although he’s perhaps best famed for his exploits with Thierry Henry, the former Netherlands forward also struck a fantastic partnership with Ian Wright, the latter finishing up as Arsenal’s top scorer during the 1996/97 season with Bergkamp operating as his supplying support act.
Thus, to mark Bergkamp’s big occasion, Wrighty felt compelled to share his love for the 47-year-old on Twitter earlier today, wishing him happy birthday and describing him as the ‘greatest in Arsenal history’.

High praise indeed, but the majority of Arsenal fans seemingly agree. Here’s a look at how they reacted on Twitter…
