In this day and age not many football fans are completely happy with their club's owners, so it is refreshing, at least, to see the majority of Aston Villa supporters backing theirs.

Chinese businessman Tony Xia, who secured a takeover of the club last year, seems to be a fan favourite.

He often interacts with Villa's following on Twitter, and he clearly takes a big interest in the club given that he oversaw training on Tuesday.

The Villans' official Twitter page posted images of Xia at Bodymoor Heath two days after the club claimed a huge victory over arch rivals Birmingham City.

Only one goal separated the two sides - a 68th-minute hit from Gabriel Agbonlahor - but it was enough for Villa to take all three points.

The Midlands outfit were relegated from the Premier League last season, but they will not be following in Newcastle United's footsteps straight back to the top as they currently reside 15 points adrift of the playoff spots.

Despite that, most fans were happy to see Xia make an appearance at the training ground.
