Aston Villa supporters have given differing views on the future of Ross McCormack.

The 30-year-old has had a difficult time since his move to Villa Park from Fulham last summer.

He made just 13 starts in the Championship and a further seven appearances off the bench before joining Nottingham Forest on loan in February.

There seemed to be concern behind the scenes when it was revealed that McCormack once missed a training session because the electronic gate to his house malfunctioned.

An Achilles injury hampered his chances of getting game time at Forest, and now it is understood that his season is over after having five cysts removed from his jaw.

According to the Daily Mail, McCormack underwent a three-hour operation in Glasgow a fortnight ago to remove the cysts, which were caused by an infection.

The footballer has been told by doctors not to train for 10 to 14 days, but he believes that he will not play against this season, reports the Mail.

Villa fans have taken to Twitter to discuss whether or not McCormack should be given a chance next season.
