Aston Villa have announced that Mile Jedinak is a doubt for Saturday's Championship game against Blackburn Rovers, and fans are bizarrely happy about it.

A number of Villans are doing the unthinkable and are willing to sacrifice a win at Ewood Park if it meant that Birmingham City dropped into the relegation zone.

That is a very big possibility given that Villa's arch rivals are taking on Premier League promotion contenders Huddersfield Town at the same time.

If Blackburn defeat Villa on home soil, they will climb out of the bottom three and Birmingham will drop back if they lose, which will leave them one point adrift of safety with one game left to play.

It is very rare for supporters to wish that their team succumbs to defeat on match day, but such is the hatred for Birmingham, they will do whatever it takes to see the Blues fall into League One.

So, when the Midlands club announced that a groin injury could keep Jedinak out of this weekend's fixture, the supporters were relatively pleased.
