Aston Villa have announced the signing of Josh Onomah from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan.

Despite only being 20 years of age, the midfielder could get some first-team minutes under his belt.

Onomah came through the Spurs' academy in 2015, but he has struggled to earn a regular spot in the club's first team.

The midfielder made five appearances in the Premier League last season, all being from the substitutes bench.

His outings amounted to just 18 minutes, but he heads to Villa Park with a winning mentality having been part of the England squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in the summer.

Onomah is the fifth player to join Villa in this transfer window following Sam Johnstone, Ahmed Elmohamady, Glenn Whelan, Chris Samba and Chelsea legend John Terry.

Announcing a new signing just one day before the Championship season begins is sitting very well the fans, who have tweeted their thoughts about Onomah's arrival.
