Aston Villa's disappointing start to the Championship season continued as they drew 0-0 against 10-man Middlesbrough at Villa Park on Tuesday night, and Villa fans were far from impressed with the performance of Birkir Bjarnason.

The Iceland international has struggled to make an impact with the Midlands outfit after joining them during the January transfer window at the start of the year, but he was handed another opportunity to impress Steve Bruce and Villa Park faithful on the left wing for the visit of Boro.

Despite former Villa man Adama seeing red for the visitors in the fourth minute, the 29-year-old and his teammates couldn’t find a goal in the opening 45 minutes with the midfielder missing a close-range header before being hauled off at half-time in place of Albert Adomah.

Aston Villa supporters were quick to have their say on Bjarnason’s performance via social media, and it is fair to say that he is not a popular player with one fan even saying that he has taken Ashley Westwood’s crown as the "worst Villa player" he’s seen.
