Aston Villa fans unfazed by Agbonlahor’s absence

Gabriel Agbonlahor has been part of the fabric at Aston Villa since 2005, but it does not appear that he has the full backing of the supporters.

The 30-year-old has featured in four Championship games this season, two were starts and the others were substitute appearances.

He has scored one goal and produced one assist, but has not been seen since Villa’s goalless draw with Brentford due to injury.

On Friday, the club confirmed via Twitter that Agbonlahor has returned to training but will not be fit enough to play in this weekend’s match against Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

The majority of the time, football fans are disappointed when a player is unavailable for selection, but in this case, Villa supporters are either unfazed or pleased.

Steve Bruce’s side had a tough start to the season when they suffered back-to-back defeats following an opening 1-1 draw with Hull City.

The team recovered with a 4-2 triumph over Norwich City, and since then have drawn three league matches and won another, putting them 13th in the Championship table.
