Aston Villa could move up to fifth in the Championship table with a win against Preston North End at Deepdale on Wednesday night, and Villa fans want Mile Jedinak to start.
The 33-year-old has spent the majority of the campaign on the sidelines because of a groin injury he picked up earlier in 2017, but he made just his second appearance of the season for the Midlands outfit as a second-half substitute in the goalless draw against arch-rivals Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Sunday.
Now the Australia international could be in contention for a spot in the starting XI against the Lilywhites, although he faces competition from the likes of Glenn Whelan, Josh Onomah and Conor Hourihane to do that.
Aston Villa supporters were quick to have their say on the fans’ favourite via social media, and while some simply said they would “bring in Jedinak”, others think if he starts “we at least draw”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Play Jedinak tonight lads and we at least draw @AVFCOfficial

Want Hogan to start up front with Keinan tonight.
Adomah, Hourihane, Jedinak (if fully fit) and Snodgrass behind them.
