It is fair to say that Newcastle United fans would have woken up this morning feeling disappointed following Sunday's result.

The Magpies were beaten 1-0 by fellow promoted side Brighton at the Amex, which ended the team's three-game winning run in the Premier League.

It was a frustrating 90 minutes for Rafael Benitez and his men as every goalscoring opportunity that came their way was wasted.

Tomer Hemed's 51st-minute goal ended up being the winner, and to add insult to injury, the Brighton striker committed an apparent stamp on DeAndre Yedlin in the closing stages of the encounter.

One man who was discussed heavily by Newcastle fans after the final whistle was Ayoze Perez.

The forward, who has been part of the North-East club since 2014 when he signed from Tenerife, had a handful of chances but squandered all of them.

Plenty of supporters were disappointed in his performance, with many questioning whether he brings enough to the team.

Others were angered by the Spaniard's failure to applaud the travelling fans at the end of the game.
