Barcelona could turn to Ozil if Coutinho deal fails, Arsenal fans react

Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal future has been murky to say the least due to his contract issues.

The German World Cup winner is yet to agree a new deal at the Emirates, and there is a chance that he could leave the Emirates for nothing next summer when his current contract expires.

Publicly, Ozil has claimed numerous times that he is happy in North London, but there is still no movement with regards to fresh terms.

Spanish publication Don Balon has claimed that European heavyweights Barcelona are considering a move for the midfielder.

The club’s first target is Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, but the report claims that Barca are confident of sealing Ozil’s signature for £53m if the move for the Brazilian collapses.

It is unclear if the 28-year-old would even be open to playing for the Catalan giants given that he spent three years at Real Madrid.

The reactions from Arsenal fans to news that Barcelona could swoop for Ozil have been mixed.
