This summer's transfer window has been dominated by the uncertain future of Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian has been linked to Barcelona for the better part of a year, but he seemed to rubbish the speculation by signing a new long-term contract at Anfield in January.

The Spanish giants were not deterred, though, and they have seemingly ramped up their efforts to sign the playmaker since Neymar left to join Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record deal.

After reportedly having a £72m bid and £80m offer rejected by the Reds, Barcelona tabled a third offer of around £113m, according to Sky Sports.

The Reds have so far stood firm in their stance that Coutinho is not for sale, and Spanish journalist Guillem Balague reported that the Merseyside outfit had until 7pm on Sunday to respond to the most recent offer.

The Catalan club threatened to walk away from a deal if Liverpool rejected their bid, and it seems that scenario has played out.

Balague has since taken to Twitter to claim that Barcelona are no longer pursuing Coutinho.

As expected, Liverpool fans have been having their say on the situation.
