Michy Batshuayi has taken to Twitter to rubbish suggestions that he laughed at his Chelsea teammate Alvaro Morata for missing a penalty in Sunday’s Community Shield against Arsenal.
The Spaniard, who joined the Premier League champions from Real Madrid earlier in the summer, dragged his spot-kick wide during the ABBA shootout at Wembley.
The pressure was heavy on Morata’s shoulders as he had just witnessed goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois send his attempt over the crossbar.
The ex-Juventus star was unable to swing the match around for Chelsea, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud struck from the spot to win the contest for Arsenal.
A video has since emerged on social media of Batshuayi chuckling to himself shortly after Morata rejoined his teammates after missing the penalty.

Many assumed that the Belgian was making fun of his teammate’s unfortunate moment, but the man himself has denied the accusations.
Wow lol some people really believe I laughed at my teammate and/or us losing ? Sorry to disappoint but I wasnt 😕

Football fans from various clubs replied to the tweet, and a handful are not quite convinced.
