Celtic star Callum McGregor has finally been handed a long-awaited call-up to the Scotland National Team by boss Gordon Strachan.

McGregor had been tipped for international recognition for months after storming performances for Celtic during their unbeaten domestic run.

The midfielder was in dynamite form just this weekend, netting a double against Hibernian to rescue a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park. He's already onto six goals for the season and that kind of goal threat could prove vital to Scotland.

The circumstances of his addition aren't quite ideal, with injuries to his Hoops teammates Stuart Armstrong and Scott Brown forcing Strachan to finally make the call.

However, that shouldn't take anything away from being added to the squad and it'll now be interesting to see whether he starts against Slovakia or Slovenia in the upcoming crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Celtic fans are delighted he's been given the chance, many feeling the decision has been taken far too late, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts...
