Celtic fans delighted with young guns as Hoops brush Kilmarnock aside

Celtic made it 52 domestic matches unbeaten on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 victory away to Kilmarnock.

With a much changed line-up, reminiscent of the rotated side that played in the Scottish League Cup two weeks ago, Brendan Rodgers’ side never looked like losing.

Tom Rogic was the instigator of the victory, setting up both James Forrest and Callum McGregor to score with excellent dribbling ability that highlights his importance to this Hoops team.

Rodgers named a very young side, especially in defence, with Calvin Miller, Anthony Ralston and Kristoffer Ajer all getting the chance to show what they can do in the first team alongside the almost ever present Kieran Tierney. Kundai Benyu also replaced Scott Sinclair in attack, just his second start for the club.

It was these young guns that drew the majority of the plaudits, fans recognising that the depth and quality in the entire Hoops squad right now is unlike almost any other era at the club.

Calvin Miller in particular stood out, with his dynamic showing on the left flank delighting the Hoops faithful. It was a performance impressive enough to even win Sky Sports’ Man Of The Match award.

Supporters took to Twitter to deliver their verdict on the youngsters…
