The big derby clash between Celtic and Rangers is nearly upon us. For fans of both teams the pre-match nerves and excitement will be kicking in, with less than an hour to go before kick-off.

Both managers have named their teams for the match-up and Brendan Rodgers has sprung something of a surprise in his starting eleven.

The Hoops boss has named Patrick Roberts to play on the right wing, to join Tom Rogic and Scott Sinclair in support of Leigh Griffiths in attack.

That's taken some Celtic fans aback, who were expecting to see James Forrest start considering the blistering form he's shown in the early stages of the season.

The 26-year-old has scored 7 goals this term already, second only to Scott Sinclair in the Hoops' goalscoring charts. He also has four goals in his last two matches against Ross County and Dundee.

With a heavy schedule though, Rodgers needs to utilise his squad depth smartly and perhaps Rodgers sees Forrest as better suited to the upcoming mid-week clash against Anderlecht. There is also no doubting Roberts' ability to win a match.

Regardless, Celtic fans reckon it's a bit harsh to drop him and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his omission...
