According to the Mirror, Chelsea are confident of securing a deal that would bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Of course, this report comes off of the back of news that Romelu Lukaku has apparently told his current side, Everton, that he is not looking to sign a new deal with the club – with securing a summer move to a top Champions League-level side seemingly his focus over the next few months.
Certainly, it would come as a big blow for the Toffees, with Lukaku undoubtedly their most important player this season. He has bagged a stellar 19 goals, and he would likely improve any side in the Premier League.
Chelsea have, seemingly, emerged as the primary contenders for his signature, but whilst the thought of Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku playing together is certainly an interesting idea, it appears as though Chelsea fans are not particularly excited about the prospect of Lukaku returning.
With discussions of a potential Costa departure, a huge transfer fee and a role on the bench amongst the fears – it appears as though Chelsea will need to do a bit of convincing to get their fans on their side for this transfer.
If Chelsea persuade Lukaku to come back where will that leave Costa? We can't play 2 massive strikers up front can we?

@BBCSport seems a bit of a risk, either goes missing or bangs a hat trick, maybe if he proves he can put in the effort

@BBCSport only if Costa starts learning Cantonese! Otherwise he won't play second fiddle, and I wouldn't blame him!
