Cesc Fabregas will start just his 10th Premier League game of the season tonight after being named in the Chelsea XI for Tuesday's fixture at home to Southampton.

It appears that the Spain international, who has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, will play in an advanced position for Chelsea against the Saints, with N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic both keeping their spots in central midfield.

Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the team selection was the return of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, who both started Saturday's FA Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur on the bench.

However, Chelsea supporters were more concerned with the return of Fabregas, who has been named in Antonio Conte's first selection for the key clash against the Saints.

The 29-year-old will be hoping to add to the four goals and seven assists that he has managed during the 2016-17 campaign as Chelsea attempt to move seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the Premier League table.
