Chelsea fans discuss new mega-deal for Costa

Diego Costa seems to have lost his footing in 2017, scoring just once since the turn of the year, with the Spaniard seemingly affected by a crazy January that involved links to China, a fall-out with boss Antonio Conte and a mysterious back injury.

However, it seems that is all in the past now as The Sun states Costa will sign a new five-year deal worth a whopping £220k-a-week at Stamford Bridge, which will see the 28-year-old become Chelsea’s highest-earning player and seal his place in the top-five highest paid players in the Premier League.

It marks a real change in situation for Costa, with many previously expecting the former Atletico Madrid man to be moved on this summer- with a return to Spain a possibility, along with a switch to the lucrative financial fields of the Far East.

Given the situation and controversy that has embroiled Costa during his time in English football, a five-year deal is quite surprising and the fans have been sharing their thoughts on social media.
