According to reports in The Sun, Chelsea are ready to sell forgotten striker Loic Remy for a nominal fee this summer in order to get his £80,000-a-week wages off their books.

The Blues signed the Frenchman in an £8.5m deal from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, but he has failed to make much of an impression at Stamford Bridge after scoring 12 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions.

After failing to impress Antonio Conte in pre-season last summer, Remy was sent out on a season-long loan deal to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

However, the move failed to go to plan as injuries blighted his time at Selhurst Park and he ended the campaign having made just eight outings in total.

Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour that Remy will go via social media, with the majority forgetting that the Frenchman was still registered to the Blues.
