Chelsea supporters had a special mention for Cesc Fabregas following his performance in a crucial victory over Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder has struggled for regular game time under manager Antonio Conte this season, starting just 10 Premier League games and coming off the bench in a further 14.

The former Arsenal man was named in the starting XI on Tuesday and he played a key role in sealing a 4-2 victory for the Blues, which gives them a seven-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the title race.

Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill were among the scorers, while Diego Costa found the back of the net twice, ending his five-game drought in the top flight.

Fabregas made Costa's first goal in the second half, which put him above Frank Lampard in the league's all-time assists table.

As it stands, the midfielder has 103 assists to his name, which is 59 fewer than Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who occupies top spot in the list.

Fabregas may not have been consistently used by Conte this season, but fans were very impressed with his performance against the Saints.
