Chelsea lifted the Premier League title with a late win at West Brom last night thanks to a goal from unlikely hero Michy Batshuayi.
The Belgian international, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Marseille for a fee of £33m last summer, has barely featured for Antonio Conte’s side this season, with just 109 Premier League minutes to his name before last night’s game at The Hawthorns.
Despite talk that the 23-year-old could be on his way from the Bridge this summer, Conte brought him on with around ten minutes to go as the striker and Brazilian winger Willian replaced the unusually lacklustre Pedro and Eden Hazard.
Conte’s change paid dividends almost instantly with Batshuayi prodding home from close range before wheeling off in celebration.
Having taken the lead with their 23rd shot of the game the Blues shut-up shop and, despite the best efforts from Tony Pulis’ men, were largely untroubled until the final whistle sealed their title.
After the celebrations had died down fans in west London were quick to take to Twitter and praise their title winner:
