Chelsea fans hold hope that Michy Batshuayi will be a key player next season after struggling to get a kick throughout their Premier League title-winning campaign.

The West London outfit parted with around £33m last summer when they signed the striker from Marseille, but he failed to force his way into the team.

Manager Antonio Conte used Batshuayi sparingly, playing him just 23 times in all competitions before the final few weeks of the season.

The Belgian may have started just one of his 20 league appearances this season, but his goal against West Bromwich Albion sealed the title for Chelsea with two games left to play.

Conte kept faith with Batshuayi for the remaining league fixtures and he scored in both - three in total.

In all competitions, the forward found the back of the net nine times, and despite his lack of match action, the 23-year-old revelled in the title celebrations following Sunday's 5-1 win over Sunderland.

Fans reacted to his tweet by encouraging him to become a key player next season.
