As is often the case, not everyone agreed with the PFA Team of the Year, which was announced earlier this week.

There was not much doubt over the inclusion of Chelsea's N'Golo Kante and Tottenham Hotspur's Dele Alli, but almost all of the other positions were questioned by football fans.

David Luiz's performances at the heart of the Chelsea defence this season led to his inclusion, while teammate Gary Cahill was also in the XI after enjoying arguably his finest season since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Bolton Wanderers in 2012.

Cahill was the subject of criticism after the team was announced, but after revealing his delight at being included, the Chelsea supporters were out in full force on Twitter to back their stand-in captain.

Indeed, Cahill has started all 32 of Chelsea's Premier League matches this season, scoring four times in the process for a team that lead the division by four points entering the business end of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the performances of Luiz, Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta have somewhat led to John Terry announcing that he will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Cahill was not exactly a popular choice in the PFA Team of the Year, but he deserves his spot according to the Chelsea fans on social media.
