Chelsea fans left scratching their heads after surprise defeat

Chelsea’s winning streak at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League came to a dramatic end on Saturday afternoon after Crystal Palace picked up a shock win against their city rivals.

The Blues had won their previous ten at home in the league and no-one expected the Eagles to be capable of pulling off such a result against the league leaders.

In an incredible opening to the game, Chelsea took the lead in the fifth minute through Cesc Fabregas before Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke scored a sensational double in the ninth and eleventh minutes.

Antonio Conte’s side were unable to break the Palace door down from that point on, with Sam Allardyce’s men holding on for a massive three points in their bid to avoid relegation.

Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy was the star of the show, making a massive 11 saves throughout the 90 minutes to keep the home side at bay.

The loss means Chelsea are now just seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, the door on a sensational Spurs comeback creaking slightly open.

While there’s no need for panic stations yet, fans were certainly left bemused by some of Conte’s decisions, especially relating to the absence of Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake.

They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
