Chelsea fans mock club for offering Eduardo new deal

Fans tend to get excited when a club announce transfer news, but on this occasions the Chelsea supporters were not particularly enthused.

With the rumour mill in overdrive, many of the Blues’ following would have been hoping for something significant when the club revealed a bit of transfer business today, but it was not t be.

The West London outfit announced that goalkeeper Eduardo has signed a new one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

The 34-year-old joined Chelsea from Dinamo Zagreb last year, but he has struggled to find a way through due to Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic standing in his way.

Eduardo is manager Antonio Conte’s third choice and he is yet to make a single appearance for the club since his arrival.

Despite that, both parties seem happy to continue their working relationship as the Portuguese shot-stopper has signed on for another year.

Most fans reacted to the news by posting sarcastic comments about Eduardo’s importance to the team, while others wanted an update on the futures of Eden Hazard and Courtois.
