According to reports in The Sun, Chelsea are set to bid £50m for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose after the two teams meet in the Premier League at Wembley this weekend.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is desperate to add a number of new faces to his squad before the summer transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, and his need for additions is even more important after his team suffered a shock 3-2 home defeat by Burnley on the opening day of the English top flight weekend.
The Sun says that the Italian manager wants Rose to provide competition for Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back spot having been such an impressive performer for Spurs over the last few seasons in particular.
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and while many don’t believe that Daniel Levy would sell a player to them, others would prefer to sign Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Valencia’s Joao Cancelo instead.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
